Kazufumi Suzuki

Kazufumi Suzuki was born in 1979, and after working for an interior design firm and a construction firm, he believed that "designing" and "manufacturing with hands" were the same thing, therefore he went independent in 2010. He develops and constructs primarily commercial domains such as restaurants, untangling "communication with people (clients), places and materials," "inspiration from nature," and "unique culture of people and places (country)." He is fascinated by the distinctive Japanese culture of the retail street known as "SHOTENGAI," and has run a restaurant on the shopping street in Shoin Jinja, Setagaya Ward, since 2010, bringing life to the Shoin Jinja shopping street and gaining media attention. He was mostly involved in projects throughout Japan, including "ONIBUS COFFEE Nakameguro" and "ABOUT LIFE COFFEE BREWERS Dogenzaka" in Tokyo, "TANIGAKI" in Hyogo Prefecture, and "Butter no Itoko" in Tochigi Prefecture. He is currently working behind the scenes in interior design and construction in cities around Japan, even across national borders.

The unique look and feel of the Indigo-dyed interior is the result of collaboration between Pizza 4P's and Indigo Store, which has been well-known for their handmade fashion products with Indigo dyed technique. To make the giant blank wall filled with the color of Peace, instead of conventional fabric dyeing, Indigo Store has well proved that handmade Indigo can also be applied to a rough cement wall. And they successfully did it. The process was not easy, but this certainly opens a new door for the application of organic materials and ingredients not only in fashion, but also countless other fields of art.

The indigo-dyed curtains and walls can be easily recognized as the signature interior of Pizza 4P's Indochina. Indigo dye is a hundred-year-old technique - which has been used widely by both Japanese and the ethnic minorities in the North of Viet Nam. With the collaboration between Vietnamese and Japanese craftsmen, Pizza 4P's commit to deliver new surprises and discoveries while cherishing the long-standing heritages.
