Hi Vincent! Thank you for joining us for our very first volume of the My Happy Dish Series.
Vincent Mourou, Co-founder of MAROU Faiseurs de Chocolat
As you may know, at Pizza 4P’s, we highly value experiences that can help us achieve Life-long Happiness or inner peace. So, we’d like to know whether you have any experiences or moments in your life that make you happy?
I love coming to work–working with the team, seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they go about their days. Similarly to Pizza 4P’s, we always want to create a strong brand, as well as a great place for people to feel happy and safe. We want to ensure an environment where everyone can grow and feel proud of. In order to do so, we need to have clear values and embrace them. So yeah, the workplace is one of the things that make me the happiest.
I’ve recently become a father so besides Marou, waking up to my wife and son is another thing that makes me very happy. Every morning, I get about one hour to play with my son before getting to work, this is honestly one of my greatest joys.
That’s really sweet! Thank you for sharing!
Let’s get right into the main topic, can you share with us your Happy Dish at Pizza 4P’s?
My Happy Dish has got to be the Burrata Parma Ham Pizza. I remember back when Pizza 4P’s first opened in Le Thanh Ton, I was actually living 2 houses away in the same alleyway. We started Marou pretty much around the same time so Masuko and I became friends. Masuko was the one who presented the Burrata Parma Ham Pizza to me. I was very impressed with the experience of the Burrata cheese being cut and unfolded right in front of me.

Other than this pizza, I’m also a huge lover of Pizza 4P’s salads. For when I just want something a bit lighter for lunch, I often order the Shrimp Avocado Beans Salad alongside the pizza crusts with Baked mashed Potato and House-made Raclette. This is definitely one of my favourite lunches.
For you, what’s unique about the Burrata Parma Ham Pizza? Why does it make you happy?
For me, the Burrata Parma Ham Pizza is not only great in taste, but also in the experience it offers. I love seeing the Burrata cheese being spreaded on the pizza and all the elements come together to create such a great taste. At Marou, we are all about experiences so I’m very keen on when people can offer unique experiences and Pizza 4P’s does just that!
This might be a hard question but if you had to add something to this dish to make it your style, what would it be?
Hmmm…Nothing too crazy, really. I think maybe some capers or anchovies on the side. I’m a big fan of Neapolitan pizzas, which are very simple–just tomatoes, anchovies, olive or capers and sometimes with no cheese.
Who would you like to share your Happy Dish with? This could be someone you know, a role model or a fictional character.
Oh, definitely my wife, Maggie. I’d love to share a pizza with her on a nice evening out together. I’ve also had many birthday celebrations at Pizza 4P’s. It’s such a great and welcoming place, perfectly suited for sharing great food with your loved ones and friends. I personally think this is one of the reasons why Pizza 4P’s have become so successful. I really admire that Pizza 4P’s does everything with attention to detail and they know what they want to achieve. Overall, I really enjoy going to Pizza 4P’s–being in the space, with great food and great service.
Any soundtrack or song you’d like to pair with this dish?
I’d probably choose the soundtrack of ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’, composed by Ennio Morricone. It’s extraordinary! It’s big, heavy and filled with so many emotions, which is very different from this Pizza 4P’s dish, which is more on the lighter, fun and enjoyable note. Though, I’d say that both the soundtrack and the dish have got a lot of passion!
Which location is your favorite Pizza 4P’s location to dine in?
The original Pizza 4P’s in Le Thanh Ton brought me a lot of emotions, it was the first place where I discovered Pizza 4P’s. However, for me, I truly love Pizza 4P’s Ben Thanh as a place to dine in. Design wise, it’s such a bold project. I love how Pizza 4P’s have been able to expose an old colonial building to what it is now with such striking architectural interior.

If you were to order delivery from Pizza 4P’s, how would you set up your dining table or space?
I would always place my food on real plates with proper silverware. I enjoy eating pizza with my hands, as well as silverware, it really depends on my mood. I’d typically watch something, probably ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’ with my wife as she hasn’t seen it. I would also order a salad, I love having a nice salad with a good pizza. To me, it feels complete and balanced! Fun fact, I usually have the salad after finishing the pizza, it’s just a refreshing way for me to finish my meal.
Oh, another film that I’d pair with having delivery from Pizza 4P’s is ‘Tampopo’, a film about the art of ramen-making. It’s very quirky, unique and it’s got its own style, just like Pizza 4P’s.
That’s all for today. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us! Is there anything you’d like to add?
Let me just say that I really admire the consistency of quality at Pizza 4P’s. Just like Marou, Pizza 4P’s started with a certain price that not only works with the quality but also for the customers. I’ve noticed that over the past years, Pizza 4P’s pricing hasn’t changed significantly even though the menu has changed a few times. I can see that there’s a real discipline within the organisation and a lot of respect for the customers.
Thank you Vincent for your time today! We hope to see you again soon! 🙂
