As a Senior Project Engineer, your role is crucial in ensuring that the interior design and construction of new stores align with the brand‘s image and deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Your role as a Senior Project Engineer is pivotal in translating the brand‘s identity into the physical space of each new fine dining restaurant. It involves a blend of project management, design expertise, budgeting, and coordination with various stakeholders to create memorable dining environments that meet the highest standards of quality and luxury.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that construction activities align with the project timeline and budget.
- Conduct regular site meetings to discuss progress, issues, and solutions.
- Oversee daily construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
- Address and resolve any issues that arise during construction or renovation.
- Ensure that construction activities meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and services required for the projects.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to the construction site.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on the construction site.
- Review and approve completed work to ensure it meets the necessary standards.
- Manage the bidding process for construction projects, including preparing bid documents and soliciting bids from contractors.
- Conduct cost comparisons to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Evaluate contractor bids following company standards to select the most suitable firm.
- Negotiate contracts with selected contractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with Operation teams, project managers, and other departments to ensure that the interior design supports the overall restaurant concept and brand image.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team.
- Review and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Ensure proper installation and functioning of all technical equipment and systems.
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on the construction site.
- Manage and document any incidents or accidents that occur on-site.
- Prepare the payment process for construction projects, ensuring timely and accurate payments to contractors and suppliers.
- Verify and approve invoices and payment requests in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Maintain detailed records of all payments and financial transactions related to the project.
- Oversee the final touches and preparations for the restaurant‘s grand opening, including staff training and operational readiness.
- Ensure a smooth handover process, coordinating with all relevant parties including Operation, QA and HSE to finalize construction and setup.
- Evaluate the performance of the interior design and construction after the restaurant‘s opening.
- Collect feedback from all departments and customers to identify areas for improvement.
- Make necessary adjustments and improvements for future projects based on post-opening evaluations.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to continuously refine and improve project execution.

ARE YOU A FIT?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in construction supervision, with a focus on commercial or restaurant projects.
- Relevant Work Experience: F&B industry is a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of design and construction processes, as well as project cost and time management.
- Proficiency in using project management software and reporting tools to ensure transparency and efficiency in project management.
- Proficient knowledge and experience in technical infrastructure such as Mechanical and Electrical (ME) systems, Fire Protection systems (PCCC), and Gas systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical documents. Knowledge of construction management software and tools.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders, including building owners, government agencies, and technical partners.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and manage project risks, as well as propose and implement preventive measures.
- Proficiency in predicting and resolving issues that arise during project implementation.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work on projects in various provinces.
