SHELLS UNDERFOOT

Before it was a floor, it was low tide.

At our Jakarta store, the terrazzo floor is made from discarded green mussel shells – a material most places simply don’t know what to do with. Working alongside Indonesian artisans, we set each shell into the floor by hand, on-site, respecting its own size, colour, and texture.

Nothing here is uniform. No 2 pieces come out the same. As you move through the space, the shells catch the light, carrying a trace of Indonesia’s coast indoors.

Made from something easily overlooked, by hands that knew how to give it another life.
