 JOB PURPOSE

The NSD Planning Supervisor is a critical role within the New Store Development department, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning aspects of new store openings. This position ensures that all planning activities are executed efficiently, effectively, and in alignment with the company's strategic growth objectives. The Supervisor will coordinate with technical team to manage timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and cross-functional communication to facilitate successful new store launches.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Location Hunting Strategy

Develop and execute comprehensive location hunting strategies to identify prime areas for restaurant expansion, considering market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape.
Utilize data analytics and market research tools to pinpoint potential growth markets and high-traffic areas with strong customer demand.
Collaborate closely with the marketing and sales teams to align location strategies with overall business objectives and brand positioning.
Leverage industry contacts, networking events, and partnerships to stay informed about emerging market opportunities and potential site leads.
Continuously evaluate and refine location selection criteria based on performance metrics, customer feedback, and market dynamics to optimize the success of new restaurant openings.

2. Lease Negotiation and Lease Contract Review

Lead the lease negotiations with landlords and property owners to secure favorable terms and conditions for new restaurant locations.
Conduct detailed financial analysis and lease comparisons to evaluate the economic impact of lease agreements.
Review and analyze lease contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal Legal and Finance  teams to negotiate lease terms, resolve disputes, and mitigate risks associated with lease agreements

3. Compliance, Contract, and Payment Documentation

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of all planning activities and documentation.
Ensure all needed permits and legal documents are obtained in a timely fashion.
Review and verify all project-related contracts (construction, purchase and installaion, etc.) for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they align with company standards.
Manage and maintain all contract documentation, including amendments and change orders.
Check and verify all payment documentation from contractors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
Process and follow up on payment requests with relevant internal and external parties, ensuring timely payment.
Maintain accurate records of all payments and invoices.

4. Collaborate with architects, designers, and construction teams

Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive restaurant layouts and designs that align with brand standards and customer expectations.

5. Timeline & Budget Management

Monitor and track project timelines, identifying and addressing potential delays or bottlenecks.
Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders, including executive leadership, regarding project status, milestones, and any potential roadblocks. 
Forecast and track the cost of all aspects of the planning process.

6. Data Analysis & Reporting

Collect and analyze data related to new store performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Prepare and present reports on project status, risks, and opportunities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of planning activities.
Utilize project management software to track and report on project status.

7. Risk management

Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project phase and proactively develop contingency plans to address unforeseen issues. 
Ensure all projects comply with local regulations and building codes

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Real Estate, Hospitality Management, or related field.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive favorable lease agreements and contracts.
Excellent project management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
Experience with contract review and payment processing.
Strong attention to detail.
